Maintenance scope when buying

Distinguish scheduled maintenance, repairs and the machine purchase.

When planning a purchase, compare expected annual hours with the manufacturer’s servicing requirements. Ask about documentation, service history and items needing assessment. Distinguish scheduled maintenance from fault repairs and replacement of wear parts.

If a maintenance agreement is needed, it should identify the machines, provider, scope, duration and costs. We agree the scope of each machinery sale individually; maintenance is not automatically included. Discuss requirements before purchase rather than assuming maintenance is included in the machine price.
